Will you sign an NDA, and who owns the tooling?

Yes — we sign mutual NDAs routinely before drawings are exchanged. Tooling you pay for is yours: it is used only for your parts, stored at our plant at no charge, and never reused for another customer.

We sign NDAs as a matter of routine, including mutual NDAs and your own template where you have one. If you want an NDA in place before sending drawings, just say so in your first message and we will return it signed before you upload anything.

On tooling ownership, our position is simple:

  • Dies you pay for belong to you, even though they are stored at our plant.
  • We never run another customer's part from your die.
  • Tooling is stored and maintained free of charge while the programme is active.
  • If you move production elsewhere, the die can be released to you or your nominated factory.

The same applies to drawings, 3D models and process documentation. Files are held only for your programme and are not used in any marketing material without written permission — which is also why we describe past work generically rather than naming customer products.

Still have a question? Send your drawing and we will answer within one working day.
