Precision

What tolerances can you hold on extruded aluminium enclosures?

Internal standard: inner/outer diameter ±0.04 mm and wall thickness ±0.02 mm — far tighter than the GB national standard. We stably mass-produce 0.3 mm ultra-thin walls and cut to length within ±0.005 mm.

Tolerance is where most aluminium suppliers quietly fail, so we publish our internal limits rather than quoting the national standard:

DimensionOur internal standardGB national standard
Inner / outer diameter±0.04 mm±0.10 mm
Wall thickness±0.02 mm±0.05 mm
Cut-to-length±0.005 mm—
Minimum stable wall0.3 mm—

Holding those numbers in volume is a function of two things: the billet and the process control. We use primary 6063 billet from state-owned mills, ceramic-filtered, degassed and homogenised, so the material is free of sand holes and weld lines before it ever reaches the press — that is what makes a consistent wall thickness achievable rather than aspirational.

The ±0.005 mm cut-to-length matters more than it sounds: if your enclosure drops straight into an automated assembly line, parts arriving even 0.2 mm long will jam the fixture. Our customers in Stuttgart and Zurich build on automated lines and specify this on their drawings.

Dimensional reports with measured values per batch are available on request at no extra charge.
