MOQ is set per project from the profile cross-section and extrusion batch size, not a fixed piece count — send your drawing and we quote the exact minimum with tooling cost. Orders from 2 tonnes get the tooling fee fully waived.
There is no single blanket MOQ, because the economic minimum of an extruded profile depends on how much metal the die pushes and how long the press run must be. A small 20 mm × 20 mm heat-sink section has a very different break-even point from a 150 mm console housing. We therefore work out the minimum per project from your cross-section drawing and quote it together with the tooling cost, so you see both numbers before committing.
As a practical reference point used by most of our overseas customers:
| Order profile | Typical minimum we can run | Tooling fee |
|---|---|---|
| First sample run (new die) | Small trial length, no fixed minimum | Charged once, waived later |
| Repeat production run | From one standard extrusion batch | Already paid |
| Single order reaching 2 tonnes | No minimum negotiation needed | Fully waived |
If you are still at prototype stage, we can also machine a small quantity entirely on CNC from solid bar instead of opening a die — that costs more per piece but avoids tooling spend until the design is frozen. Many Silicon Valley and Munich customers start that way and switch to extrusion once volume justifies it.
